Yugenkai, Kendo in Dunfermline has been organised by three passionate members of Edinburgh Kendo Club wishing to bring Kendo to West Fife. Our aim is to highlight Kendo within Fife regions and hope to attract many people to come and join us and share the enthusiasm we have have for this great martial art. |
Kendo is the art of Japanese fencing which is done in a safe enviroment. Obvioulsy the use of swords cannot be used due to the dangers that brings. Whilst fencing, Kendo use split bamboo sticks (Shinai) as the main weapon of choice and we also use wooden swords (Bokken/Bokuto) in more formal Kata or learning basic cuts in Kihon Kendo no Kata |
