Wear loose fitting clothing such as, track suit bottoms and a T-shirt and note that Kendo is done in bare feet. Due to the phsyical nature of Kendo, you may become sweaty! Therefore, bring a towel etc with you should you choose to shower directly afterwards. However, be aware, school closes at 22:00 SHARP!
How much does it cost?
A vital part of Kendo training is spent working on the feet. Exercises will include, moving forward, backwards, and sideways all deploying specific Kendo footwork.
You will also learn how to achieve Fumikomi ashi (Stamping).
Grip - How to hold the Shinai & Bokken correctly & use of hands.
Cutting - Head (Men), Wrists (Kote), Body (Do) and Throat (Tsuki).
Etiquitte - You will learn some of it within these 6 weeks. For example, how to sit correctly, basic commands, standing, counting 1 - 10 in Japanese.
The 6 week beginners course costs £75.00, included in the price are the following;

1 x Shinai to suit your size.
1 x Bokken (Large size only).
1 x Cotton Sword bag.
1 x Yugenkai Beginners manual.
3 month Temporary (Compulsorary) British Kendo Association insurance.
